I try not to lock myself into glorifying or demonizing any particular company. All large companies do things we don't like at one time or another, and often one part of a company can be doing consumer-friendly things while other parts can be doing consumer-unfriendly things. MS has a lot of warts, but so does Sony... Root-Kit DRM, poor quality control at certain times and in certain product lines, etc.
