In my researching, I can confidently say that this is a Hogwarts Legacy type deal. The reviews now seem worthless. If it can pass the test of running well and the technical issues are minimal both on PC and on Console and the microtrasaction stuff is not true then I don't see any reason why people would be let down by this unless they were expecting soulsborne. It looks phenomenal and you can feel how impactful, solid and heavy hitting the combat is through watching second hand, that's rare. Must feel a joy to play. Fingers crossed the performance is solid and consoles aren't a shelled out version.

Public reviews from outlets containing journos are utterly worthless, because the majority of them have connections to certain "consultation" activist companies (basically proxies at this point), which make any of their reviews a worthless read.

The only reviews at this point are those who are literally testing it on their home-built rigs and benchmarking test purposes.

I can already see there being a fanboy moment between regular gamers and Souls fans, and that isn't helping anyone with anything, except to see a bunch of know it alls on the Souls genre acting like they are the high scholars of gaming. From what I have seen from the hour of gameplay leaks, the game does in fact contain trace elements of mechanics from Souls, but the game itself isn't a Souls-like, but it is absolutely borrowing elements, and that is why I am not interested in playing the game to begin with, because I can see for myself visually on what the game is playing like via user footage and of course the gameplay trailers.

Aside from that little squabble one portion of the net is having, I feel like the focus should be put more on the performance of the game itself, as well as the DEI enforcing game journos to write out the multiple hit pieces on the dev studio (which has become so obvious now, one would have to be willingly blind to not notice this level of pressure).
