I want to upgrade my old Ryzen 5950X+128GB DDR3600.
But AMD underwhelmed.

And it's not just the performance either... The 7950X3D is almost $200 AUD cheaper than the 9950X and it's also faster.
And the regular 7950X is almost $300 cheaper.

Price is a big factor... And I understand that launch MSRP is lower for the 9000 series, but the 7000 series is below launch MSRP, so it's irrelevant, we compare prices as they are currently, not historically unless we can start traveling through time.

I think once supply and pricing of the 9000 series settles a bit it will be a good recommendation, especially when X3D parts drop, but right now it's not a smart purchase.

I guess I will wait it out for a bit longer, AM5 should get at-least one more CPU release before a new socket rolls out.
