In doing so, it robbed some power for the internal cooling fans and in doing so made the heat problem worse. There were numerous reports of the plugin getting so hot that the intercooler fused to the 360 body and those warranties were voided as it was clear the intercooler contributed to the failure. All conjecture and hearsay, but it was widely reported on the netz about a year ago.
