Look at how much different things are when you aren't charging headfirst into artillery and minefields because the West took forever to give you adequate supplies but still expected you to fight with both arms tied behind your back and go and charge headfirst into this minefields with no air support like you're recreating the Battle of Normandy.

I still think Summer 2023 offensive should have been Ukraine going into Russia and then double backing back into Ukraine but entering from behind Luhansk and heading towards into Donetsk and IIRC there was an officer from another countries army who said that would have been better too. Until there's an insane advancement in demining technology and most of Russia's artillery is destroyed, any offensive inside Ukraine itself will be a brutal battle for Ukraine of them charging and hoping for the best.
