Hard disagree. Most of the time that is relatively accurate but a Trump 2.0 administration will be different. He can distance himself from Project 2025 all he wants but the people he is going to hire want to implement it. All the people who told Trump no the first time around are gone.
I used roll my eyes a bit at people who lived in constant Trump drama but after watching him try to overturn an election I do not trust him.
Also as someone who works in government/politics I can point to hundreds of things that make a big difference in thousands of peoples lives but most people won't notice.
Examples
- Capping insulin prices for seniors,
- More than 10,200 bridges are being rebuilt, repaired, or modernized thanks to President Biden's Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. (Trump tried and failed).
- CHIPS and Science Act has led to hundreds of thousands of new high paying jobs in advanced manufacturing. If you have one of those jobs you are impacted.
- On a local level, we have been able to get $$ for drinking water infrastructure for our rural towns that cannot afford to fix their aging pipes alone.
- Republicans Farm Bill will reduce SNAP benefits by $30 billion over next ten years. Anyone who needed that program will fill that effect if passed. Due to the current cuts our Foodbanks are seeing need at a higher level than the pandemic.
Elections matter and have consequences. Most people just don't realize it until they are impacted by policy change or need help from a program.
