Depends. I voted 10 minutes though.
Action game I know little about - Just a few minutes. Arcade games, action games in a compilation, cheap GameStop game in a Buy 2 Get 1 Free deal, a bundle of games on Ebay, etc.... I give these games just a few minutes each. If they aren't fun, then move on. An action game needs to be fun in the first few minutes IMO or it just isn't worth playing.
Action game with great reviews and/or in a series I like - I'll give it at least a couple of hours. I played RDR2 somewhere in the 2-4 hour range and I was still in the tutorial. The tutorial is not fun either, while the BotW tutorial is actually fun. F U RDR2.
Turn based RPGs - Multiply the times by about 10. Turn based RPGs can take a while before they are fun, so I'll give them more time. (Although there are turn based RPGs which start being fun during the first few minutes.)
Other genres like strategy games or action RPGs fall somewhere in between.
