It will always be a niche product, never for the masses.
They have been trying to push for it for a very long time and it hasnt happened yet. Of course it is great for a few things but it will most likely always be bulky, heavy, will require you to stay in place and unaware of surroundings. You cant share the experience. Also a lot of people gets dizzy and a lot of times it doesn work well with glasses.
So it will always be there, but as a niche product.
