‘Shall we cross into the sea?’ displaced Palestinians ask

Israeli forces have carried out new raids in the Gaza Strip, hours before Netanyahu addresses the US Congress.

The UN says more than 150,000 Palestinians have been forced to flee the southern city of Khan Younis – the site of the latest Israeli offensive. Residents said they were ordered to head west towards a designated “humanitarian” area of al-Mawasi but it’s unsafe after several deadly attacks in recent weeks.

“Where should we go? Shall we cross into the sea?” Ghada, who has been displaced with her family six times during the war, said via a chat app from Hamad City in Khan Younis. “We are exhausted, starved and want the war to end now – now, not an hour later.”

Israeli forces also launched air strikes on several areas of central and northern Gaza, including one on the Bureij refugee camp that health officials said killed nine people.

Malnutrition robbing Nasser Hospital of blood donations

Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis has been calling for blood donations but it’s saying most volunteers who came aren’t eligible because they’re malnourished. People are trying but unfortunately they’re not in good enough shape to help other Palestinians.

Khan Younis already suffered for months under an Israeli military offensive so many people here don’t have any shelter as this latest attack began. People are literally scattered on the streets.

There’s no options where to go. Rafah further south is under a ground invasion. Deir el-Balah and Nuseriet in central Gaza are under attack. UN shelters are packed with people.

Regardless, any people who are trapped in the fighting and attempt to leave are shot by Israeli quadcopters.
