In a wide-ranging discussion on his career with fellow Japanese developer Ikumi Nakamura, the man behind beloved action classics like Devil May Cry and Bayonetta directly addressed his old employer, Capcom, with a request: let him back in the studio to make sequels to two of his games.

The creators of cyberpunk bartending sim VA-11 Hall-A are following it up with an amazing-looking 'active time action' RPG

.45 Parabellum Bloodhound has an immediately arresting first trailer: the breakcore beats, gloomy tenements, and turn of the millennium anime swagger really speak to me, and it's also coming from cyberpunk bartending visual novel VA-11 Hall-A creator Sukeban Games.

The open beta for Throne and Liberty, Amazon's latest MMO import, is available now
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/mmo/the-open-beta-for-throne-and-liberty-amazons-latest-mmo-import-is-available-now/
Throne and Liberty, an Amazon-published free-to-play MMO from NCSOFT, is currently running an open beta, which will be live until 10AM PT on July 23, 2024. Much like it did with Lost Ark's western release in 2019, Amazon Games announced in 2023 that it had acquired the rights to publish Throne and Liberty outside of South Korea.

Once Human developer teases the first big update, apologizes for the last bad patch

Once Human developer Starry Studio has teased the first big update coming to the open world survival game, which will include new PvP and PvE modes and "a new northern mountain region, monsters, and challenges." First things first, though, an apology: It seems that a recent maintenance update broke numerous items in the game and caused the demolition of a whole bunch of player houses.

The creator of this Bigfoot game is considering changing Bigfoot's face after commenters said it's too human-like, but I'm entranced by it

I was startled awake this morning when the first email I opened confronted me with the image above: a smooth-faced, blue-eyed Bigfoot gazing contemplatively, or maybe pensively, at the press release that followed, the announcement of upcoming sasquatch sim Bigfoot Life.
Something about that rubber-mask face stupefied me—I also like Bigfoot's marching gait, seen in the trailer embedded below—but after seeing criticism of his Bigfoot's appearance online, the game's creator is considering reworking the cryptid's face.

College Football 25 is having a big moment on consoles, but like usual, EA decided PC gamers are an afterthought
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/sports/one-of-the-biggest-games-in-the-world-right-now-isn-t-on-pc-and-it-s-not-clear-why/
Something cool happened in the world of American sports this year: the NCAA, the organization that puts on college sports at the highest level and rakes in over a billion dollars a year doing it, settled on a deal that allows college athletes to be paid for their services—something that should've been happening all along. The deal is a huge win for student-athletes who previously destroyed their bodies for free, but it's also a big deal for publisher EA, as it means it can finally go back to making college football games.
EA's first college football game in over a decade, now simply called EA Sports College Football 25, is already one of the biggest games of the year. During CF25's early access period last week, which you could only get into by pre-ordering the $100 edition of the game, players noticed that over 600,000 people were online at once. Before it was even officially out, College Football 25 was putting up Helldivers 2 and Baldur's Gate 3 numbers.
Unfortunately, you won't find College Football 25 anywhere on PC. As far as we know, EA isn't making a PC version this time around, and it's not really clear why.
>> Why does this always happen with sport games? FIFA, NBA, etc. always get worse versions on PC.

Bethesda Game Studios developers form 'wall to wall' union that includes artists, designers, and programmers

Developers at Bethesda Game Studios have elected to unionize with the Communications Workers of America, a national labor organization that has also worked with Activision Blizzard employees on collective bargaining efforts.

Overwatch 2's new space girl healer takes the throne as one of the most strategically satisfying heroes in the game

Not since Kiriko has a new Overwatch heroes single-handedly tanked the queue times in Quick Play. I only managed to get a handful of games in and I'm certain the wait times are only going to get worse as the trial for Juno, the game's latest support hero, continues into the weekend. Not only are people clamoring to play her, she might actually be one of the best-designed heroes since Overwatch 2's release.

A Baldur's Gate 3 player has discovered hidden mini-quests you can only get by leaving the most important items in the game in an exploding building or at the bottom of the ocean

Baldur's Gate 3 was our 2023 Game of the Year and highest-scoring review in over a decade and a half for a whole host of reasons, but its open-ended player freedom and attending reactivity to all of our potential choices is certainly up there. A year out from release, Proxy Gate Tactician on YouTube has uncovered a particularly absurd edge case reaction involving the Netherstones and late-game Iron Throne and Steel Watch Foundry dungeons.

TennoCon's Warframe: 1999 demo reveals '90s instant messenger clients, motorcycle stunts, and an Infested space mutant boy band

TennoCon is upon us once again, and the Digital Extremes fan event's brought us an extended gameplay demo for Warframe: 1999, Warframe's next major story update. When Warframe: 1999 was first teased last year, I'll admit I was skeptical about how on-board I'd be for the space ninja game's dabbling in CRT-era nostalgia. But when this year's TennoCon gameplay demo kicked off with an original single from On-lyne, an alt-universe NSYNC knockoff, I knew I was wrong to doubt.
