Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán presented his "peace plan" to EU leaders, according to Balázs Orbán, the political director of the Hungarian government. He stated that from the trips to Kyiv and Moscow, it became clear that both Ukraine and Russia are determined to continue the conflict.

Consequently, Hungary began negotiating with potential mediators, including China, Turkey, and Donald Trump.

The EU plans to boycott Hungary's foreign policy summit due to Prime Minister Orban's actions, reports Politico. Brussels is considering this unprecedented step because of Orban's opposition to the EU's normal operations and foreign policy. Instead of attending the summit in Budapest, EU foreign ministers intend to organize their own foreign affairs summit in August. This move follows Orban's obstruction of aid to Ukraine and uncoordinated trips to Putin and Xi Jinping. By boycotting the Budapest meeting, the foreign ministers aim to send a clear message that Hungary does not represent the EU.
