Four killed in new Israeli attack on Gaza City

Our colleagues at Al Jazeera Arabic are reporting that Israeli forces have attacked a residential building in Gaza City, killing at least four people and wounding three others.

The attack followed an earlier deadly air raid on a ruined mosque at the Shati refugee camp, which is also in Gaza City. At least 20 people were killed in that attack.

The Israeli military had ordered Palestinians last week to immediately leave Gaza City, in the war-torn north of the Gaza Strip, where some 300,000 people were estimated to have remained.

Israeli air raid kills Syrian soldier, wounds three

An Israeli air attack on a residential building in Syria’s capital, Damascus, has killed at least one Syrian soldier and wounded three others, the Reuters news agency reported, citing the Syrian military.

Israeli army radio also confirmed the attack, saying Israel’s military launched a “missile barrage” at a building in Damascus in response to two drones that were intercepted north of the Israeli port city of Eilat yesterday.

The drones came from Syrian territory, it said.

Israeli attacks on Syria have increased since the start of the war in Gaza last October, including from the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, where Reuters said the latest attack was launched from.

‘Abhorrent complicity’ for countries arming Israel: Oxfam

Countries that continue to supply Israel with weapons are demonstrating “abhorrent complicity” with Israel’s “heinous approach to warfare”, the humanitarian organisation Oxfam has said in response to Israel’s latest attacks on the al-Mawasi camp.

“Once again, we are witnessing the absolute disregard Israel has for Palestinian lives and for international law,” said Oxfam’s Regional Director for the Middle East, Sally Abi Khalil in a statement.

“Nowhere in Gaza is safe – we need a ceasefire now, for arms transfer to Israel to end immediately, and for Israel to be held to account for all violations of international law,” she added.

I don't think a ceasefire is going to happen at all anymore. After the assassination attempt on Trump, the chances of Netanyahu accepting a ceasefire, even temporary, are practically zero. All he has to do is hold out / keep the war going until November to have Trump back him further.

Biden doing anything now to withhold weapons will only be more ammo for Netanyahu to further weaken Biden.

If Biden had any honor he would step down now, let Harris run for presidency and force a ceasefire on Netanyahu by withholding further military aid. But I doubt he has any honor. He'll keep fumbling until November and disappear in the history books as genocide Joe, Netanyahu's bitch with the $320 million sunk pier.

It's not looking good for Palestinians nor Ukrainians nor Europe nor the rest of the world. Nor for the good people left in the USA.
