Top 30 has been updated and Super Monkey Ball Rumble debuts at #30. At first I thought that is really low for a Super Monkey Ball game, but than I found out that the last two Super Monkey Balls haven't even made it to the Top 30. So Super Monkey Ball is surprisingly not that popular in Japan (at least not recently).

The good news for Sega is that I think most of the games are clearly not too expansive to make and despite mid sales, they can their teams develop a new one.

Kind of the same progress, Nintendo develops their smaller games too, not with the biggest budgets, nor the biggest sales usually, but it does seem to satisfy them enough.

Honestly, Capcom would learn a lot by still nourishing their smaller franchises is such ways.

Yeah Capcom has mostly been coasting on by with their less expensive IPs (Mega Man, Ace Attorney) by just rereleasing their older games (still hoping we get a Viewtiful Joe Collection in the near future). So I feel creating new entries shouldn’t be such a gamble for Capcom.
