The biggest differientitor for gaming performance was moving from DDR4 to DDR5 - AM4 to 5. And probably why the 7000 non X3D was on par or faster in some cases than 5800X3D. That and the clock speed+IPC increases. On Zen 5 the same clock speeds and marginal IPC, won't make up for the massive cache in the 7800X3D.
But yeah, I'd expect another 15-20% increase over current X3D for the 9800X3D , on average.
