i used to lurk here a while ago because i had forgotten my log in,well i found it now and imagine my surprise when i found out that you cant delete your account, why not?
if there is an issue with replies and post and stuff, at least change the usernames to a random string of letters and numbers and delete the info ascociated with it (email and password hash)
i dont understand the "just dont visit this site" arguement, deleting ones account is a simple action that should be mandatory in every site, what if you dont want your content to be on this site anymore? what then?
i havent posted anything other than this so i dont care(about the "content") i just want to change my name which i ALSO cant do
getting banned is a shittyway to go about thi too
cant there just be a time limit for inactivity and after it get your account deleted?(telegram works in similar way)

what a nice way to kill everyones privacy, and at the same time kill free speech too, whos to decide what is hate speech and what isnt? with time everything could become hate speech to censor everyone

what if same happens with hatespeech? everything is hate speech so you cant say anything, effectively killing free speech

as per the children arguement, maybe dont allow children to use the internet??? i was one of the children that you support to be safeguarded yet i support just not allowing children to use the internet instead of just making sure that such things cant happen and not even adults who are seeking such things cant discuss them for the sake of the children that shouldnt be here in the first place
like taking a kid to a stripclub, -you cant leave it alone in the house after all can you?-, and then demanding that the strippers cover themselves up, ruining the experience for everyone due to your bad parenting

why let kids use the internet and gets their brain infested with brainrot? get addicted to it? find all that content you talked about and very easily get scammed anywhere?
the answer to this is better parenting and not allowing the internet to raise your child
