Eleven killed in Israeli attacks despite UNSC ceasefire resolution

A reminder that despite that legally binding ceasefire proposal at the UN Security Council, Israel has continued its attacks across Gaza.

At least 11 people were killed, including children, and many wounded in attacks in northern and central Gaza.

The Israeli military has bombed a home in the az-Zawayda area of Deir el-Balah in central Gaza, killing three people, the Wafa news agency reports.

The bomb struck the home of the al-Talbani family, killing two children and their father, as well as injuring many more, according to Wafa.

Israeli army says four soldiers killed in Gaza

The soldiers were “killed in fighting in south Gaza” on Monday, the Israeli military said in a statement, without elaborating on the circumstances of their deaths. The Army Radio said they were killed in an explosion set off in a building in the Shaboura neighbourhood of Rafah.

More casualties in Gaza City

Israeli forces have bombed a home in Gaza City’s Sheikh Radwan neighbourhood, killing at least one person and injuring others, reports Wafa news agency.

Civil defence crew are still searching for victims trapped under the rubble of this home and another in Gaza City’s Daraj neighbourhood, where we previously reported that eight people were killed.

Rafah still a battlefield as rescuers struggle to reach victims

It was a deadly night for Palestinians in Gaza City, where at least three houses were targeted. All of these homes had people living in them and civil defence teams are still searching for people trapped under the rubble.

In Rafah, we know that at least two farmers were killed after Israeli forces targeted them. According to Israeli media, four Israeli soldiers were also killed by a blast in a booby-trapped building.

Rafah has been a battlefield for the past couple of weeks and we do not know what is currently happening on the ground as there has been a telecommunications blackout. No ambulances or civil defence teams have been able to rescue people trapped under the houses.

We know that Israeli soldiers have been moving towards the western parts of Rafah, where live ammunition has been fired at Palestinians still sheltering there. It’s still escalating.

Israeli military claims to dismantle fighter cells in Rafah

Israeli forces says they carried out targeted raids in Rafah, taking out fighter cells and called in air strikes throughout southern and central Gaza. According to an Israeli military statement, air strikes hit 35 targets over the past day.

As we’ve been reporting, such strikes have caused extensive civilian casualties, including killing children in an apartment in Gaza City. At least 37,124 people have been killed and 84,712 wounded in Israel’s war on Gaza since October 7.
