16 Billion is an insane under-evaluation for the definitive pc gaming platform. Probably fake imo. If Valve takes that, they are selling themselves short.

It's far, far lower of an offer compared to what they actually used to buy Acti/Blizz and Bethesda, and tells me they still see Steam as "not worth the money", yet they still see it as one of their biggest threats.

They'll likely turn it down, but MS should not be allowed to go around "preparing" offers for anyone else at this point, they've been proven time and time again that all they want is IP ownership, and proceeding to gut studios worth of talent and milking/locking an IP till it breaks and then they shelve it.

There's no real way MS could even begin to integrate Steam into MS's own ecosystem, because to do that, they'd need to fully replace Steam points, Steam wallet cash, Steam's own network systems, everything that makes it not Xbox, and I know MS loves everything running under their Xbox ecosystem infrastructure (Remember what happened to Bethesda.net when MS bought them?, yeah it's gone, network and all).

The part that gets me, is I know in this day and age that there are a decent chunk of people who wouldn't give a single fuck who bought who (or even simp for them, because that's the hip thing to do these days, bat for a corp without thinking twice), and that they'd just tell ppl to "stop complaining, it's just another ecosystem" (for real, those people help contribute to product/company/competitive damage, and they'll never admit that they do, nor change their minds).
