I know what you’re getting at, but I wouldn’t say Hitler because of the smaller scale and lower ability to inflict his evil on people… maybe he’s a Mussolini. While Hitler/Nazi is an insult to normal people, but Putin’s supporters in the West revere Hitler, and even if they claim to hate him they respect him for the catastrophe he caused and so drastically changing the course of history. With that in mind, calling him Hitler is giving him too much credit. But, using more recent figures, I’d say he’s more of an East European Gaddafi crossed with Saddam than Hitler. Hitler orchestrated attacks that did significantly more damage to Ukraine and its people than Russia did and devastated half of Europe on top of that and carried out one of the largest genocides in history. In fact, Russia (multiple times in history) has done more damage to Ukraine in the past than Putin. I’d say Putin is more of a Saddam Hussein. Still evil, still a mass murderer, still invading countries, political assassinations (Saddam was assassinating opponents in the UK as well). There are similarities, like Hitler, Saddam brought ruin on his country due to the consequences of his foreign policy, and Putin is heading that direction as well. And maybe Putin will have a similar end to Saddam or Gaddafi. |
Could say Hitler in goals but Mussolini in ability.
He has those Hitler aspirations but he is a moron surrounded by morons but also Ukraine is a country which surprised everyone in their ability and resistance, add on the mostly united Western support and it has put the breaks on him for now. But they succeed in Ukraine then other countries will be next, likely Georgia and Moldova and I know we underestimated Ukraine but Russia would wipe out Moldova with ease. I get your point though, that calling him Hitler gives him a little too much credit, they're both sick fucks but Hitler was vastly more successful than Putin.
