No console had analogue control before the N64, and further, the Sony Playstation Risc processor was NOT true 3d. Look at almost every game that came out on that system, it's a planar 3d world, inhabited by 2d sprites. Don't even try to compare the "3d" of Crash Bandicoot to Mario 64, which was the first true 3d system on the market.
And good lord, outside of maybe a few square games on the PS1, most of those games look horrendous today. Whereas N64 games still look quite good.
The PS1 wouldn't have even existed if there wasn't a Nintendo Play Station.
