Industry: Fuck our budgets are becoming ridiculous, this is bad, this is becoming really dangerous.

Insomniac: Does anyone even notice our $300m budget! We really need to get this under control!

Journalists: WHY DOESN'T XBOX JUST MAKE 230, $300M BUDGET GAMES!!!

It's baffling how few people actually understand how M&A's are calculated and that a company spending $69bn cash on something isn't them "losing" that cash but changing it into an asset, they still have that $69bn but it's now in the form of Activision-Blizzard. They only lose money if they sell Activision-Blizzard for less than $69bn in the future. While spending $69bn on games, the average budget of each game being $300m, is a guaranteed way to blow all your damn funding and run into bomb after bomb after bomb and THAT would kill your business.

Microsoft: Here's $1bn.
Phil: Hmhm. Lovely. That'll get us 3 games. We're back baby.
Satya: Wtf?

Not even that Microsoft isn't investing in games, they have more games than ever in development, they have dozens of AAA titles in development but the "instead of ABK. Spend it on games" analogy makes no sense and the suggestion to just make dozens of $300m budget games is quite frankly stupid when the industry is screaming out to get budgets under control.
