I don't think people in the west fully grok the situation in northern Ukraine. Kharkiv is Ukraine's second largest city, a pre-war population of 1.4 million and it's 28 miles south of the Russian border. It's been pounded by rockets, missiles and artillery for going on 2 years. https://t.co/qlIkqDdYet

Beyond that, with even less publicity or western acknowledgement, the villages and town of the northern Sumy oblast, also along russian border are getting systematically wiped out by targeted Russian shelling, rockets and glide bombs. Who would allow this to happen unanswered?

and allow its adversary to maintain its logistics, military industrial capacity and rear areas completely untouched. Nobody flights like this! The notion that the conflict should be "contained" inside Ukraine, is a nice little Western fantasy, but it's deeply, deeply fucked up.

The fact that Russian authorities are continuing to stick to and expand the "Ukraine controls ISIS" narrative is enough to realize that Russia will continue to escalate the war against Ukraine and that Western divisions are only emboldening the Kremlin to act more aggressively.
