Analogue controls?...Upgradeable RAM??... 3D gaming???... Multiplayer????... Controls options?!?!?
Very tenuous.
In one form or another, all of those "innovations" pre-date the NES, and the others are largely pointless (coloured consoles?!?!).
That isn't to say the N64 wasn't a good console, though. Goldeneye and F-Zero X were awesome. Never saw what the fuss about SM64 was, though. I always thought it was shit.
