But you aren't, really. Just because the side content takes up a lot of time to complete doesn't mean anything since it isn't relevant to the plot. You can just skip it.

Same thing with Breath of the Wild for instance, you can do the main story and enough shrines for the MS in 30 hours but you can play another 70 in side content. This would be like complaing about it because there are too many koroks or that you need like 999 wood resources to build the new village.
