Israeli army attacks in Rafah city, Khan Younis kill 11

Attacks on Rafah city, particularly in the northern and eastern parts, killed at least eight people and injured multiple others, according to medics. We heard from paramedics and civil defence sources on the ground that the attacks caused a great deal of destruction to the surrounding areas of the targeted homes. They are trying to remove people from under the rubble of those homes.

Separately, a small village in the eastern part of Khan Younis, the military attacked a residential home with three people reported killed and multiple others injured.Civil defence officers say they are trying to remove people who under the rubble.

We are seeing the same exact patterns of attacks like before on residential homes with causalities being mostly children and women.

Israeli military says ‘fighting continues’ inside al-Shifa hospital

The Israeli military has said that there will be “several more days” to its deadly siege on the al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City.

“The fighting continues inside the hospital buildings. There are Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists who … are currently barricading themselves in the area of the emergency room,” Israeli military spokeman Daniel Hagari said in a statement.

“We continue to call upon the terrorists in the building to surrender, those who surrender will stay alive,” he said, adding that the Israeli military is “evacuating” about 220 patients trapped in the building to another location.

Hagari said the Israeli military has arrested more than 500 suspects in al-Shifa, “358 of which are Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists”. He said that the Israeli military has arrested “very senior officials” who will be named once they are interrogated.

Hamas has denied having combatants at al-Shifa or using the hospital as a base. International law states attacking health facilities is a war crime.

Israeli soldiers ‘beat all the young men and arrested them’ in al-Shifa Hospital

Israel’s military continues with its operation in and around the al-Shifa Hospital in central Gaza as people flee from the area.

A 60-year-old patient, who gave his name as Younis, told the AFP news agency that he had been forced outside without clothes, blindfolded and interrogated before being freed. The soldiers “beat all the young men and arrested them”, he was quoted as saying by the agency.

The Israeli military said it killed many fighters and arrested hundreds of people since the start of its latest operation involving the hospital on Monday. It claims fighters hide in the vast hospital complex. The government in Gaza says the attack on an area crowded with patients and people seeking refuge is a crime.

Images and videos showed streams of people fleeing south from the hospital along Gaza’s coast in recent days.

Israeli military claims to kill 150 fighters near al-Shifa

The Israeli military says it is continuing to conduct “precise operations” in al-Shifa Hospital, with its forces killing 150 fighters in or around the facility in the last day and apprehending “hundreds of suspects”.

Over the past 24 hours, Israeli troops also killed fighters in close-quarter combat in al-Qarara of northern Khan Younis, while killing others by sniper fire in central Gaza, the military said in its latest update.

Israeli fighter jets meanwhile struck 40 targets from the air, including “launch pits and military compounds”, the military statement said. Israel’s latest attacks in Gaza have also killed dozens of civilians, including in its siege of al-Shifa, according to the Palestinian news agency Wafa.

Hamas denies Israeli claims of arrests at al-Shifa Hospital

A statement made by Hamas late last night denied allegations by Israel’s military claiming that soldiers arrested members of the movement in al-Shifa Hospital. It pointed out that the vast majority of the people on the list were academics, doctors and civil society leaders sheltering inside the hospital.

Everybody else is merely civilians, also sheltering inside the complex after fleeing from the ongoing horrors of bombing, according to the statement. The government in Gaza accused Israel’s military of conducting intense operations and deliberately killing 13 patients inside the hospital. It said they were cut off from oxygen after a facility was damaged by bombings, adding that they needed a constant flow of oxygen.

Further adversity for northern Gaza, especially after al-Shifa Hospital raid

The northern Gaza Strip is experiencing unprecedented hardship, especially after the Israeli incursion into al-Shifa Hospital. A campaign of arrests is ongoing, and more than 600 people have so far been detained, including medical staff and displaced people. Two patients lost their lives because of the lack of medical staff there.

People have been killed inside al-Shifa Hospital and in the surrounding areas. We know that around 160 people lost their lives. There is no coordination between the international bodies and the Israeli military, so evacuating the compound is very dangerous.

Ten people killed in attack on residential building in Gaza City

We have started to see a surge in Israeli air strikes across the Gaza Strip in the past hour, mainly in the central and northern areas. In a northwestern area of the Gaza City, a residential building with a family inside was targeted and destroyed. Ten people were reported killed right away.

Since al-Shifa Hospital is under attack by the Israeli forces, there has been a difficulty in transferring the casualties inside. Civil defence crew members say most likely they will be headed to the al-Ahli Hospital, but this is unconfirmed yet, given the difficulty of the situation right now.

There are also people who are still under the rubble.
