Israel taking ‘proactive communications strategy’ during Al-Shifa Hospital raid
The Israeli military has described how its forces came under fire from several hospital buildings and how they returned fire, shooting several individuals.
The military has confirmed to me separately that they have made arrests. I’ve tried to push them for details on those arrests, but they are not providing information on the numbers or identities as of now.
During the ongoing operation, the Israeli military has been issuing statements in a way that is unusual. Their communications strategy has been incredibly proactive, with statements describing how their forces came under fire, and explaining how soldiers were prepared ahead of time to act in accordance with international law.
This is of course in the context of huge criticism from the international community directed at Israel, including by its close ally the US, concerning its past operations inside medical facilities, which have special status under international law. So there is clearly an awareness on Israel’s part that this is something they need to take very seriously.
After all the exposed lies from the IDF, what can be taken seriously from these statements. It doesn't look like the actions are any more targeted or careful with quadcopters shooting at anything that moves. All it seems that they dialed up the Hasbara.
And continues attacking the press
Israeli army arrests Al Jazeera Arabic reporter inside al-Shifa Hospital
We’re getting reports that Israeli forces have arrested Al Jazeera Arabic’s correspondent Ismail al-Ghoul from inside the al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City. Israeli army says soldier killed in Al-Shifa raid
The Israeli military has announced one of its soldiers has died in its raid of Al-Shifa Hospital, where it says it has exchanged fire with Hamas fighters. The death of the soldier, 20-year-old Staff Sergeant Matan Vinogradov, brings the total number of Israeli soldiers killed in the Gaza war to 250.
The raid on Al-Shifa Hospital has put the lives of thousands of Palestinian civilians sheltering there in jeopardy, says Gaza’s Health Ministry, claiming that Israeli snipers have fired on anyone fleeing the facility.
Israel’s military has issued a call for all civilians near Al-Shifa or in the broader Remal neighbourhood of Gaza City to flee south.
Israeli army destroys broadcasting vehicles in al-Shifa Hospital
Israeli forces have destroyed the broadcasting vehicles of press crews at al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza. The hospital was a base for journalists to report from throughout Israel’s war on the Gaza Strip.
The medical complex’s courtyard has been bulldozed, while the Israeli army has opened fire towards its buildings warning those inside it not to approach the windows, witnesses said.
WHO chief says agency ‘terribly worried’ after Israeli army storms al-Shifa Hospital
Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has sounded the alarm about the situation at Gaza’s largest medical complex, saying “hospitals should never be battlegrounds”.
In a post on X, the World Health Organization chief warned that the situation is “endangering health workers, patients and civilians” and also cautioned that “any hostilities or militarisation of the facility jeopardise health services, access for ambulances, and delivery of life-saving supplies.”
Hospitals should never be battlegrounds. We are terribly worried about the situation at Al-Shifa Hospital in northern #Gaza, which is endangering health workers, patients and civilians.
The hospital has only recently restored minimal health services. Any hostilities or…
