"Just play the original". Isn't that the issue? I shouldn't be going back to the original to get the feeling I want from a remake of one of my favourite games ever, I should want to buy and play this version. You can make a world you can walk around and explore without taking away from the original game's story, gameplay, premise and feel. I feel this has failed at all of these, different gameplay, different combat, different magic system, different story. Only things remain the same are characters and location. Hardly seems worth while remaking a game if you aren't actually going to remake it, might as well just use their resources and time and make another in the mainline FF series. A stand alone FF game, with the combat and magic system like FF7R has, I might have been well into it but sadly it wasn't that, it was meant to be FF7. |
The funny thing is it's not even a remake of the original. It's a sequel of Advent Children. The whole Sephiroth going back in time to alter the timeline thing is so fucking stupid. I'm not sure why they did that or who asked for it but honestly I hated it.
