Israeli forces launch attacks on Rafah, Nuseirat

Our colleagues at Al Jazeera Arabic say Israeli forces have launched attacks on the city of Rafah in southern Gaza and on the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central part of the enclave. The overnight attacks come as Palestinians in Gaza prepare to observe the first fast of Ramadan.

Our colleagues at Al Jazeera Arabic are now saying that at least three people have been killed and several more wounded in that bombing.

Al-Mawasi, a ‘safe zone’ in Gaza, attacked for a third time by Israel

Despite widespread devastation and dire humanitarian conditions in Gaza, attacks show no sign of easing, with every part of the besieged enclave hit in the last 24 hours. Of concern is Israel’s heavy bombardment of al-Mawasi evacuation zone, where residents were previously ordered to relocate by the Israeli army. Among the dead are at least eight Palestinians who were sheltering in a tent.

This assault on what was deemed a safe area has shattered any remaining sense of security for Gaza’s traumatised population.

The Wafa news agency is reporting a number of casualties after Israeli forces launched new air attacks in and around Gaza City. The agency said several people were killed in an assault on the Zeitoun neighbourhood, while a number of others were wounded in an attack on the Sabra neighbourhood.

The assaults came after an earlier Israeli attack on Tal al-Hawa neighbourhood, which is also in Gaza City, killed at least 10 people.

Wafa also reported Israel shelling in the southern city of Khan Younis.

Khan Younis city, Gaza City see surge in Israeli attacks

In the past few hours, there has been a surge in attacks in the eastern part of Khan Younis city and Gaza City. A residential home was attacked, with people from one family reported killed and multiple other injuries transferred to al-Najjar Hospital in central Rafah.

In Khan Younis, there is not only an intense bombing campaign, but there is an ongoing systematic, controlled demolition of residential homes, to the point that entire areas in the eastern part of Khan Younis have been completely cleared from all physical structures of residential homes or infrastructure.
