It's not really a conspiracy, it's a joke that Yahtzee started wat back in 2011, and since then the net has been running with that joke since.
Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
