You break a promise on hardware, you've lost your dedicated playerbase. Especially when the playerbase is already antsy. Doesn't really matter either way. It isn't hard to break, they promised so much with Xbox one, Always online consoles will be better, Kinect makes Xbox one more interactive and better and so on...
I mean the exciting hw update can end up delayed to next year tho..
