Anti-war protests at UK base in Cyprus
About 300 anti-war demonstrators protested outside the Royal Air Force base in Akrotiri after the United Kingdom joined recent United States-led strikes on Houthi positions in Yemen. The base was used as a staging point for Typhoon fighter jets involved in the operation, according to the Reuters news agency.
The march, which started outside Britain’s Akrotiri military base, was organised by the Cyprus Peace Council and supported by the leftist opposition party AKEL and the activist group United For Palestine
