Yeah, I've never even tried a 4X style turn based strategy game, so I really have no idea if I would like it or not.

Best example to play would be Civilization V. Still the pinnacle of the genre imo. At least until Ara releases! The game released in 2010, so your PC should be more than powerful enough to run it. It's usually pretty cheap on Steam. 

4X games are the ultimate "just one more turn" genre I've been up till 3am playing these games when I was younger. They're VERY addictive. Especially once you're in the modern era and get a shitload of tanks and nukes to wreak havoc! 

Just look at this! And from 2010! I can't imagine terrifying and epic a nuke will look like in Ara!
