It depends on what kind of simulation games they are. Civilization 6 is actually very divisive amongst the fanbase because the game was developed with console in mind. Instead of broad, realistic, life-size biomes like in previous games, Civ 6 was a flat map, almost like a tabletop game with geography layouts on top of it. That allowed the game to be nowhere near as CPU heavy for even mobile devices.

Huh? I don't understand what you mean here. How is Civ VI more flat and like a tabletop than Civ V or previous civ games? They are all tile/hex based maps. I don't think Civ VI was designed with consoles in mind. The first console version was over 2 years after the PC version.

Civ VI isn't a cpu demanding game though. It's turn based so not the same as simulation titles like Cities Skylines 2 that do need a beefy cpu to run well.

Tile/hex based maps, yes, but the presentation from both games are drastically different. In Civ V it actually looks like you're on a real world with realistic geography.

This is from Civ 6 early in the game. It looks like you're on a flat surface like a tabletop. Art direction is also a bit more cartoony.

This is from Civ 5 early in the game. Terrain looks much more realistic with the mountains sticking out.

And as the game goes on, it looks and feels like you're managing a real world. And that was in 2010! Idk how the franchise managed to regress in 2016 when Civ 6 released.

But you can definitely tell that Civ 5 devs are the ones making Ara.

Even the water looks more realistic in Civ 5, which Ara is going for a more realistic design.

Civ 6 here almost looks like a mobile game lol

If Civ 6 wasn't developed with console/mobile in mind, then Firaxis really came across a massive accident that allowed them to
