If Xbox is going this way I would be ok with them releasing GaaS or F2P 1st party games on other platforms even Halo Infinite multiplayer on PS5 but keep the campaign console exclusive. Same could be done for Gears 6 which will likely go the same way as Halo with a paid campaign but F2P multiplayer. As for the smaller games like Pentiment and Hi-Fi Rush I could care less Honestly.

Keep referring back to it but honestly it was there in front of our eyes this whole time.

Hi-Fi Rush fits into the first bracket and Sea of Thieves fits maybe into the 3rd but I wouldn't describe it as "massive"

A case could be made for finally splitting Halo's multiplayer from its campaign and releasing them separately in which case Halo Campaign could fit into the middle and Halo Multiplayer would fit into the right, but they may keep their staples fully exclusive to Xbox no matter what. At this stage I wouldn't bet on Halo, Gears or Forza making the move. So far we only have a couple niche titles and a 6 year old "new IP"

I have to wonder something else though...Is Microsoft releasing a bunch of GAAS onto Sony's platform going to hurt their own GAAS efforts? More competition and all that, Microsoft has a lot of strong live service titles. Maybe Microsoft wants to get in before Sony spams a bunch of their own, Lol. People's time isn't infinite and there's so many constant updating games nowadays.

I think that MS putting Gears and Halo multiplayer on Playstation would absolutely cuck their GaaS pivot outside of Bungie titles, I doubt that Playstation would ever put their MP games on Xbox and games like Concord and Fairgames don't have the Legacy or weight that Gears and Halo do.

The last thing PlayStation would want is even more competition in an already crowded MP market especially if it negatively affects their own efforts.
