The Achilles heel of 4090s. While granted majority of 4090 users will likely not have their cables melt, it does feel like a situation where they should have put two of these on a 4090 and allowed for a maximum of perhaps 350-400 watts per connector instead of 600 watts. 4080 and below has generally not seen any form of melting despite having the same connector so it's clear that while user error may be at play to a degree where maybe they didn't plug it in correctly or maybe the pc case doesn't have enough airflow and such... It really could have been easily rectified if they stuck with the normal 8 pin or not push the connector to it's very limits.
