The best deals in the 2023 Steam Autumn Sale
https://www.pcgamer.com/steam-autumn-sale-2023-best-deals/
When the leaves fall, the deals call. On top of this week's big Black Friday deals on gaming PCs and components, Steam's Autumn Sale has begun.
With most of the year gone, quite a few 2023 games are discounted during this week-long Steam sale, which ends on November 28. We've kicked off this list of recommendations with some of those new games—specifically the games we and others are looking at for end-of-year awards—followed by discounts on our favorite games from last year, and finally a selection of other favorites that you can get for less than the price of a sandwich (well, depending on the sandwich).

'Today is the end of Steam': Argentina and Turkey floored by new Steam price hikes as high as 2900%
https://www.pcgamer.com/today-is-the-end-of-steam-argentina-and-turkey-floored-by-new-steam-price-hikes-as-high-as-2900/
Valve followed through on its promise to change Steam's regional pricing for Argentina and Turkey on November 20, meaning games in those countries will now be priced in US dollars instead of the Turkish lira and Argentine peso. The goal, Valve said back in October, is to prevent game developers from having to constantly adjust their prices to keep up with the stunning volatility of the Turkish and Argentine currencies. Instead, they ought to be able to set a regionally appropriate price in USD and forget about it.
But that regionally appropriate part is harder than it sounds, and Turkish and Argentine Steam users are currently in an uproar over new prices in their territories. A quick glance at the Steam subreddit reveals a number of users lamenting the new situation, declaring "The end of Steam" for Turkish and Argentine users, announcing a return to piracy, and posting some of the most eye-watering spreadsheets mankind has ever conjured.
Update: Since this piece went live, a few readers in Argentina have reached out to note that Argentine users also have to pay incredibly high taxes in addition to Steam's listed prices, making these new prices even more unaffordable there. It's worth bearing that in mind as you read the original piece below.

MODS, EMULATORS & FAN PROJECTS

Mortal Kombat 1 got Nude Mods for all female characters, including Sonya, Sareena, Kitana & Sindel
https://www.dsogaming.com/mods/mortal-kombat-1-got-nude-mods-for-all-female-characters-including-sonya-sareena-kitana-sindel/
It’s been a while since our last coverage of Nude Mods, don’t you agree? So, today we are back with a bang. Mortal Kombat 1, the latest fighting game from NetherRealm, just got a ton of Nude Mods for almost all female and male characters.
Modder “FrancisLouis” has released Nude Mods for pretty much all of MK1’s female characters. Yes yes, most of your favorite characters are included. In other words, you can download nude mods Sonya, Kitana, Sindel, Li Mei, Frost and Sareena.
Similarly, modder “Lilotty” released Nude Mods for a lot of male characters. And while I know most of our audience won’t be interested in these, they are a nice welcome. Or at least they are for the game’s female audience. Then again, the default MK1 male costumes are… more “revealing” than the ones for the female fighters. So I guess it’s not that big of a deal?

An Armored Core 6 co-op mod has a fully-functional alpha, though its creator wants to add a few key features like difficulty scaling first
https://www.pcgamer.com/an-armored-core-6-co-op-mod-has-a-fully-functional-alpha-though-its-creator-wants-to-add-a-few-key-features-like-difficulty-scaling-first/
Armored Core 6 was a triumph—it gave second wind to FromSoftware's mecha franchise, brought new fans into the genre (myself included) and it let you gun down tanks as a 20ft-tall Pepsi Man, what more could you want? Co-op, that's what.
Despite the fact that there's several missions in the game with AI partners, there's no online co-op—which is fair enough. Not only is the single-player experience already great, with some of FromSoftware's best NG+ content yet, Armored Core 6's mechs are so customizable I have no idea how you'd balance any mission around more than one of them. The Robot-Wars style PvP battles are a better use of the game's online functionality.
That hasn't stopped modder LukeYui from trying, though. As spotted by TheGamer, LukeYui posted a fully-functioning prototype of him and a friend tearing through the Attack the Watchpoint mission. Since the mission's designed for a solitary AC, it turns one of the game's first major difficulty hurdles into a breezy walk in the park, something LukeYui is very aware of.

You can now play Halo: CE and Halo 2: AE in third-person mode
https://www.dsogaming.com/pc-performance-analyses/you-can-now-play-halo-ce-and-halo-2-ae-in-third-person-mode/
Halo fans, here are two amazing mods for you today. Modder ‘Davide Di Fortunato’ released these mods for the Anniversary Edition of Halo Combat Evolved and Halo 2. These are the official remakes that were included in the Master Chief Collection. And, as the title suggests, these mods will let you play these classic games in a third-person mode.
Both Halo and Halo 2 allow you to switch between the original and the modern graphics. And yes, these mods are compatible with both modes. This means that purists will be able to enjoy the classic versions in third-person mode. On the other hand, those who want better graphics will be able to switch to the Anniversary Editions.
Do note that these mods will work once you find a weapon. I’m saying this because some may be confused after installing and trying them. Yes, at first, the game will still be in first-person.
