So? Its only yellowcake. If you're trying to insinuate that this is evidence of a WMD program then you're reading way too far into it, yellowcake is processed into nuclear fuel for the most part.

How many nuclear power plants do they have in Iraq exactly? I don't think there are very many. With 50 tons of yellowcake I think its a bit naive to think it was obtained for any reason other than enrichment and weaponization. This of course doesn't mean there was an active program but it certainly shows that Saddam had the desire.

Either way, the article doesn't really contain any major new info other then that it has all been removed, it was pretty clear he had yellowcake based on the info we had already. The only reason that people should be really surprised by this is if they bought into the idea that Saddam was never trying to get nukes. Its pretty obvious that he was at some point.

None to my knowledge. They had an expiermental one but i think it was shut down by Israeli bombings

Since they aren't aloud to enrich uranium and if they did have a power plant would of only been allowed to use Russian Uranium in it's reactors it really only could be used for weapons purposes when enriched.

Just like their biological weapons programs they were researching and doing little else, waiting for the right time to build stockpiles.
