It is a flawless procedure. With the new model on shelves this week, nobody, absolutely nobody, is going to sell the "big" model anymore. These would be dead stock for Sony. It makes perfect sense to clear out the old model.
Sure it triggers "Sony is doomed" contributions, no surprise here.
