I won't fault anyone who wants to vote for Guitar Hero this year.  It definitely deserves any votes it gets.  However, I don't think a lot of people have actually played this first Guitar Hero game.  I plan to put either II or III into one of the polls.

Yeah, as a guitarist (at that moment some 15 years of practice), I found Guitar Hero to be WTF moment for me, and I'd take pretty much any game on the list over it, but I can't ignore a huge mass appeal and popularity of it (and actually being really fun to play), so that's where my vote went.
