That do make sense since when you look at the revision on the node shrink although there were some weight reduction and simplification of the heatsink/cooling solution the overall PCB and chassi were basically the same. So it seems like they took the chance of using the new node as fast as possible while keep working on engineering improvements to reduce the system on the 6nm node, and hopefully next year we see a 5nm and proper slim.

My feeling is the 5nm will be used for the PS5 pro, and any slim revision will happen later.
