PS2 was a better console when you talk about quantity and versatility of SW, but when talking about the HW itself GC was marginally better (and if it had a proper DVD drive it would be no discussion superior).

And sorry to burst your bubble but there were some aspects on MD that were superior than SNES and that is why some genres played better on it, but in general SNES would be the better HW but as platform it would be perfectly fine to see MD as superior based on the library of your preference.

What games played better?  I had both a genesis and SNED and found the graphics, sound and controller significantly better on the SNES.  Don't get me wrong, genesis was a good console.

The colors and sound, for me, was a huge advantage for the SNES.  Made games look way better.

I didn't say a specific game played better, I said it was recognized to be better for some genres (like arcade shmups). Most of the titles on both consoles were either totally exclusive or made independently when the same game/IP so you would never have a real side/by side comparison.
