i like the gamecube better too but its not going to kill me to admit the ps2 was better.

some gaps are just gigantic though, like the snes vs genesis or mario andretti vs super metroid. 

PS2 was a better console when you talk about quantity and versatility of SW, but when talking about the HW itself GC was marginally better (and if it had a proper DVD drive it would be no discussion superior).

And sorry to burst your bubble but there were some aspects on MD that were superior than SNES and that is why some genres played better on it, but in general SNES would be the better HW but as platform it would be perfectly fine to see MD as superior based on the library of your preference.
