Western equipment is focused on keeping the soldier inside alive as well, I don't think we can say the same for a lot of Russian equipment, we seen in the videos even how Bradley's and Leopard's being directly hit kept all the soldiers inside alive and resulted in an orderly retreat, even afterwards the Ukrainians managed to recover some of the Leopard's and repaired them.

I think Ukraine rushed a little at the start, expecting to overwhelm the Russians, but everyone underestimated the sheer scale of the minefields and Ukraine adjusted tactics fairly quickly, switching back to attrition of artillery and a methodical but slow progression of lines. Russia on the other hand when they're set on a particular tactic never change, this is looking close to a Bakhmut 2.0 but I question if Russian MOD knows how to perform offensive manoeuvres better than Wagner did and even Wagner suffered horrific losses.
