I plan on voting for Gran Turismo, it launched in 1998 in Europe and NA though, but I guess first release date (December 23 1997 Japan) counts?

For PC, Diablo is my most memorable experience of 97, next to Riven and Dungeon Keeper. But can only vote for one :/

Personally, no. Quake 2 and Diablo would be honorable mentions, but a console game will have my vote for 1997. 

See, this is the hard part of picking PC games for polls in the 90's.  Every year there are a bunch of great PC games, often they are roughly equally great.  And then people just vote for console games anyway, lol.
