I really hope this is not the case or it gets updated/fixed soon because enabling "traditional V-sync" in 2023 would be very dumb as the latency hit would be nuts.

Are they talking about in-game Vsync or Control panel variant?, because I stopped using in-game Vsync options years ago (mostly because devs still can't get their own versions to work, if at all). 

I think in-game v-sync but hard to say. Once they come out with their videos, they should be able to explain it better.
