For me personally, no. I've gone through it with my local electricity company, and it turns out devices like my Washing machine/tumble dryer, elec heater and microwave all combined, use up more than my desktop powering my CPU/GPU/monitor.
I'm UK based, so I'm not sure about the rest of the world, but my desktop isn't the powerhouse elec guzzler like I thought it would be.
