I mean that might also explain why the court recently went "you wot m8", when MS accidentally sent the wrong documents, and I know damn well that Kamiya did not get along with MS over those years (Also he's the kind of guy like me that is hard to forgive others for a long time).
MS buying Plat would certainly be a foot in the door for them, as well as giving them access to Bayonetta, which also prevents Nintendo from locking it to the Switch (And I would really like to play Bayonetta games again on PC, instead of being locked to a device that's low res/jittery fps and drifting thumbsticks).
Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
