Not sure what you was trying to say here. Is Final Fantasy series on a decline? Yes, nobody argues. Are there more popular games? Obviously yes. But my post was about Tokyo Games Show where Japanese games will be shown. And despite being on a decline, Final Fantasy is still probably the biggest JRPG series or at least one of the biggest anyway. FF16 sold 3m in just one week. It's not nothing. Not that many game series can do that. If you are trying to say that Final Fantasy is irrelevant because it's not as big as it used to be than what about staple Xbox franchises like Halo and Gears. Their latest instalments sold even less than that. Gears for sure. Should we forget about Gears now? I don't think so. It's still big franchise with 7-digit player count at least just like Final Fantasy is. I don't think the rhetoric "let's forget about Gears, it's a declining franchise" is something that Gears fans here would like to hear. Why it should be the same for Final Fantasy? I think there are still a couple millions Xbox users at least who would like to see FF16 to hit Xbox. No need to be petty about this if you don't care about the game personally.
But even though, if you read my post again, you'll see that my statement about not getting FF at TGS would be a disappointment was not made because I set the bar too high or demand something unrealistic, but because Xbox leadership did it to themselves. Phil Spencer himself came out and committed to bringing FF games to Xbox a few weeks ago. And that's why FF appearance will now be strongly anticipated. It's Phil's and Team Xbox choice. They could have kept silent about that and I wouldn't even mention FF in my post. It's all about setting expectations.
