Well, the most plausible scenarios involve Nintendo using a 720p or a 800p panel (I don't really see them going with anything higher than that) and, at least the first couple years, the console should be able to run the games at that resolution natively.
When it comes to how it would perform while docked, if the Switch 2 works the same way as the first one, it should have more power and be able to run the games at a native 1080p output, again, at least the first years. And from that 1080p they would go for the 4K upscale.
At least that's what I think.
