Conceptually that would have been cool for Wii U. I'm sure a couple of games did it but the Wii U with the shitty hardware,name,api and more prevented from becoming a more standard idea. 3 Gamepads as our split screen.I guess Switch has that ability in tabletop mode and 3 friends with a Switch. if Sony Portal was a more capable device, conceptually the idea of PS5 splitting 4 player in 3 Portals and the TV screen be kinda cool.

It was pretty cool on Dreamcast with the formations in football games showing on the VMU.
