We also calculate the strokes per minute on these pump jacks. Which is basically how many times it goes up and down in one minute. There are two pulleys on a unit, the larger one is referred to as a bull wheel and the smaller one as a motor sheave. I calculate what the size of the larger and smaller one need to be in order to maintain the desired strokes. Belts are needed to connect the two pulleys together and the distances vary between each one. The shafts also vary for each pulley and require different hubs to set the pulleys on to. We provide all those and the belts.
The inventory that is maintained consists of a hair under 3000 separate items. Before I make my final exit, I'll make sure to take plenty of pictures and videos for mementos.
Most of the time I go home dirty and smelling like, oil, sweat, chemicals, burnt rubber, and shit.
3-4 years ago I also developed a latex allergy, which makes me allergic to 30% of the inventory. 23 years of exposure, I guess, will do that to you. But I triple dress and keep myself covered and shoulder on. 108 degrees today, 3 layers of clothing, fun times. I'm looking forward to a change, but also fear it because I've done the same thing for so long.
On a positive, being my own boss and being able to call all the shots was heaven, and I wouldn't change a thing.
...to avoid getting banned for inactivity, I may have to resort to comments that are of a lower overall quality and or beneath my moral standards.
